Correction of Gum Recession

Exposed tooth roots are the result of gum recession. Correction of gum recession will enhance your smile by covering the roots that make your teeth appear too long.  Often these exposed roots are too sensitive to hot or cold foods, liquids, or sweets. Most important, gum recession can lead to the loss of teeth.

Your gums may have receded for a variety of reasons, including aggressive tooth brushing or periodontal disease. You may not be in control of what caused the recession, but prior to treatment we can help you identify the factors contributing to the problem. A soft-tissue graft procedure will repair the defect as well as help prevent additional recession and bone loss. We will then work with you and your to identify and correct the factors contributing to the problem. These techniques are very gentle by nature, and cause minimal discomfort or disruption of your routine.
Often times extraction of the loose teeth and immediate placement of dental implants with porcelain restorations with a combination of laser gum recontouring to align the gums is the right course of action.
